Albas Falls - Shuswap Lake Marine Provincial Park

Shuswap Lake Marine Park is situated along the outskirts of Shuswap Lake and consists of 23 sites, known for their popularity in fishing and water sports. Some sites also attract visitors for hiking and nature study. While certain sites are accessible by road, the majority can only be reached by water.

Facilities at these sites range from minimal amenities to three or four wilderness tenting sites equipped with a pit toilet. Anglers should be aware that Shuswap Lake is home to an impressive 19 species of fish!

Albas falls:

Driving directions: to reach the trailhead, travel approximately 9.4 km west of Sorrento on Hwy 1. Make a left turn onto Squilax-Anglemont Rd and follow it for about 46 km until you reach St. Ives. Continue along the Forest Service Rd on the west side of Seymour Arm until you spot the Albas Provincial Park sign, where you'll turn right. The waterfall series cascades to the left of the road, and parking is available at the bottom of the road near the campsite.

Water access: dock at Steamboat Bay, located on the opposite side of the creek from the campsite. You'll see signs on the beach directing you to the falls.

Hiking upon arrival: embark on this scenic approximately 3 km loop trail that meanders along both sides of Celista Creek, showcasing a series of five remarkable waterfalls, starting from the shores of Shuswap Lake.
